t year...In other news, my roommate and I had been planning for 2 plus weeks to go into Chicago on our day off, (February 7th), to a store that we wanted to get some stuff at. We had been eagerly looking forward to it and anticipating this day with excitement. We got up early and took the train into Chicago. When we got there, we started to walk. We knew the store was in north Chicago and what the cross streets were. We knew when it opened and when it closed. We decided to not spend the money to take a taxi or the bus. We figured we weren't in any hurry and why not take our time, see the city, and enjoy the day? So we walked... and walked... and walked... we considered again taking some transportation to get there, but thought we must be getting close anyway, so mind as well just stick it out. So we walked somemore... Five and a half miles and three hours later we finally got to our destination. And - you guessed it - they had decided to close early for the day; half an hour before we got there. Needless to say, we took the $2 bus back to the train station.
This is a house we saw on our walk through north Chicago... poor little thing squished by apartment buildings...
