So finals week happened at school, and I stopped blogging because I was swamped... Then I came home and didn't blog because I didn't think anything of it and there wasn't much to write about anyways, so who would notice? Well... apparently a lot more people read my blog than I thought - considering I thought my mom was the only one reading it - and I don't think I have seen one person since being home who hasn't said, "you need to write on your blog!!! you haven't written forever!!!" To which I automatically say, 'I know..." and then realize what they actually said and say "Wait - you read my blog?"
So... for all my faithful fans out there who have endured this dry spell with me... I'm here to tell you that I'm Back! :-)
In the next couple posts I will have to catch you up on what happened at the end of the year and all that... share a few fun pictures, etc... But for now, since I am not at my house with those pictures, my words will have to suffice for now as I give a short update of current events. Presently, I am house sitting for my sister and her husband's (Mr. and Mrs. Oak) tiny house. They are out of the state at a family reunion and poor Mrs. Oak is having to meet all the inlaws she missed out on meeting at her wedding last summer. So, while she is miserably trying to remember names and smile till her cheeks split or her face freezes, I get to drive her nice car and cuddle with their very strange cats.
Ahh the cats... These cats make me realize why there are people who dislike cats - a notion I have previously not understood. One of the cats is a normal size and looks like a calico quilt - it is nice enough, although scared of its own tail, and has odd yellow eyes - a strange concept to me since I have only ever had beautiful cats with blue eyes. My one complaint for this cat however, is her fur... I'm not sure they wash this cat very often (they do not go outside anyways), but if they did, I don't think it would help... she just has coarse, oily fur, and there is nothing to be done about it! Oh, and the other cat is the worst! We're talking about a 28 pound snuggly pussy here. It just can't get enough of people and loving them... Three inch long hair and suffice to say that his name is "Stinky"... I'll just let that last bit sink in... The strangest part of all however, is that it took me three nights of sleeping under this log to realize that the cats needed to be put in the laundry room at night so that I could sleep without being in pain... Surprised that it took me this long to figure that out? Yeah, me too... brain damage or something... he was probably cutting off the blood to my head...
The second thing I realized from staying here is that I don't like living alone... Bottom line. Yeah its nice to be on your own and do whatever you want when you want for a while... but I don't like it. Its scary to come home from work late and walking in to a dark and empty house... scary to close the blinds on the gaping windows... and scary to try to fall asleep with nothing to use between you and an intruder but a 28 pound fur cannon ball. Not that you'd exactly use your roommate as a defense against an intruder, but at least then you have someone sleeping next to you or close to hear you scream or something...! I know... I've been watching too many scary movies.... but I don't really watch scary movies - as a rule - because I have too much of an imagination to handle it. And there is more to the anti-living-alone thing too. I get too lonely! I need someone to listen to or talk to, blah blah blah... Basically I just like being with people! 'Sigh.' This whole thing makes me miss my roommate all over again!
Well, that was far from a short entry and I still have more stories to tell - especially work horror stories (although probably none as good as my old McDonalds ones) - so tune in soon, there is more to come! :-)
